London Fashion Week hosted its first ever plus size fashion show in February. Organisers of the show wanted designers to face up to the fact that the average size woman is not a size zero and start catering for the curvier woman.

Fashion retailer Curvissa does exactly that. Not only does it design comfortable and stylish clothes but it proves that plus size fashion is in no way, shape or form a restrictive dress code.Earlier in November Curvissa attended the fashion extravaganza Plus London in Hoxton. As well as having a stand at the event, the supporter of plus size style filmed a behind the scenes video exclusively for HELLO! Online explaining what Plus London was trying to achieve. Here’s what they discovered…

Plus London has exploded since its debut in 2011, and this year the organisers wanted to "push the bar [to]...make this the best one yet. "Our source interviewed organisers of the event, Lauren from Pocket Rocket Fashion and Claire who blogs for Monkey See Monkey Do Monkey Wear, to get a bit closer to the heart of Plus London.

What do you love about the plus size blogger community?

Lauren: "It’s gone from a small, closed community and now it’s completely exploded! I think things genuinely are starting to change within the fashion business... people are starting to really understand where we’re coming from."

What do you want to achieve from Plus London?

Claire: "Our underpinning word for the day is community... it’s about talking to brands and getting to speak to them as well as the new friends you can meet [and]...learning new skills."

In addition to showcasing the latest looks to hit the rails, Plus London featured exclusive chats with brands about their upcoming ranges, hosted clothes altering workshops and had a Q&A session with some of the biggest blogging names in the plus size community.

Curvissa and styling company The Vintage Pamperbox, run by fashion blogger Betty Pamper and her colleague Lily von Pink, collaborated for the day and offered hair and make-up makeovers to the guests at the event.

Trends aside, Plus London and all the brands and bloggers involved are fundamental in re-educating the way our society thinks about 'fat fashion'.We salute you, Plus London!
